Job Summary and Qualifications

The Certified Surgical Technologist works directly with the physician and the circulating registered nurse in each surgical procedure, understanding his/her scope of practice based upon training, and the facility policies and outlined in the job description.

What qualifications you will need:

EDUCATION:

· Certification from an accredited school of surgical technology.

EXPERIENCE:

· Minimum of one year Surgical Tech experience

· Three years Surgical Tech experience preferred

CERTIFICATE/LICENSE:

· Certified as a Certified Surgical Technologist by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) as of January 1, 2018 OR Successfully completed a training program for surgical technologists administered by the United States Public Health Service, Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps or Coast Guard OR Engaged in the practice of surgical technology in a health care facility before January 1, 2018

· BLS Certification from the American Heart Association

Our facility also offers a behavioral health unit serving teens and adults, an accredited Chest Pain Center, a Certified Primary Stroke Center and a dedicated orthopedic and spine unit. In addition, Southern Hills Hospital and Medical Center provides women with top level care with our OB-GYN, Level II NICU, diagnostic imaging and surgical services.
