About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Superintendent to join our team at Jobot. As a key member of our construction management team, you will be responsible for overseeing the coordination and supervision of all phases of field work performed by subcontractors and vendors in constructing high-density residential and mixed-use projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and direct the efforts of Assistant Superintendents, Punch Carpenters, and Laborers.
  • Develop and maintain working relationships with project building officials and inspectors, and schedule all required jurisdictional inspections and testing.
  • Identify and make recommendations to the Project Manager regarding project risks, including safety/loss control, subcontractor/supplier issues, site conditions, and logistics.
  • Supervise and monitor the work of all hired trades and punch carpenters and laborers.
  • Review all subcontractor and vendor progress payment requests prior to final processing of billing.
  • Provide notice to non-performing subcontractors and request termination and hiring of replacements when necessary.
  • Prepare punch lists and ensure completion of all related work prior to inspections and product acceptance.
  • Inspect subcontractor work to ensure it meets subcontracted obligations and company quality standards.
  • Create, maintain, and update project schedules as they relate to work in progress and completion of the project.
  • Hold weekly safety and subcontractor meetings and maintain minutes of such meetings.
  • Ensure timely ordering, delivery, and storage of materials and parts necessary to construct and complete the project in accordance with the project schedule.
  • Monitor subcontractor compliance with project safety policies and program, and manage site conditions to ensure a safe work environment.
  • Review plans to identify mistakes and inconsistencies, and make recommendations on how to resolve such issues.
  • Ensure duties not contracted out are being completed by other means.
  • Ensure documentation and paperwork are organized within the filing system set forth by company policies and practices.
  • Work with company-hired third-party consultants and inspectors, schedule third-party inspections of work in progress, and ensure responses to any exceptions or punch list items noted by the consultants and inspectors.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or equivalent.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in the multi-family construction industry, including supervising all phases of construction of high-density residential and mixed-use projects.
