Talent Acquisition Specialist

This position is responsible for driving and executing full cycle recruiting, including creating and posting job requisitions, sourcing passive candidates, screening applicants, scheduling interviews, creating and negotiating job offers, coordinating pre-employment screenings, and preparing candidates for hire. The Recruiter will leverage Ventura Foods' Employment Value Proposition to attract and engage candidates for open roles across various levels, while providing an excellent candidate and Hiring Manager experience.
Main Responsibilities:
- Build strong relationships with business leaders, peers, and HR colleagues to identify hiring needs, refine job specifications, and develop talent acquisition strategies for openings at all levels.
- Recruit for assigned open positions using a range of sourcing channels, including referrals, internal employees, company career site, social media, online job boards, and web-based searches.
- Review applications and interview candidates to obtain work history, education, training, and compensation needs, and submit qualified candidates that meet job requirements and fit Ventura Foods' culture and values.
- Ensure hiring excellence by employing the Select behavioral interviewing process, conducting effective debriefs, and collaborating with key stakeholders to achieve successful offer acceptance and hire.
- Develop and maintain a network of professional contacts to help identify and source qualified candidates, including contacts with schools, alumni groups, and external staffing firms.
- Stay up-to-date on industry trends, total rewards benchmarks, and job market attributes, and analyze staffing and headcount trends to suggest areas where headcount is needed or could decrease.
- Bachelor's degree required.
- 2+ years' experience in recruiting or staffing for Frontline Maintenance and related roles across multiple sites in the manufacturing, distribution, or related industry.
- Experience in sourcing talent in various channels, including online, community-based organizations, vocational technical centers, and external staffing firms.
- Food industry experience a plus.
- Ability to travel up to 10%.
- Ability to effectively communicate and build relationships with a wide variety of professionals through a consultative approach.
- Demonstrated skills in recruiting, assessing, and presenting talent to various levels in the organization.
- High level of professionalism, sense of urgency, attention to detail, and ability to work under pressure and multitask effectively.
- Experience using a broad range of techniques to source, identify, and select qualified and relevant talent.
- Some proficiency in direct sourcing skills, ability to leverage internal and external networks, and market knowledge, to identify, assess, cultivate, and deliver the best talent.
- Experience building and maintaining relationships with organizations to create future pipelines.
- Innovative mindset to identify new and creative ways to source and attract talent.
- Independent, self-motivated, team player with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience working with an ATS (Applicant Tracking System) a plus.
- Proficient in Excel, MS Word, and Outlook.
