About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Systems Engineer to join our team at WSP. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for providing technical assistance and guidance for due diligence, design, development, building, testing, and inspecting of mechanical systems on infrastructure, building, and construction projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with the research, design, concept development, planning, installation, operation, maintenance, and optimal integration of automatic temperature control, air distribution, hydronic, and plumbing systems, equipment, and processes.
  • Generate accurate and concise reports and documentation regarding installation, construction, and operation specifications.
  • Ensure that responsibilities are delivered and adhered to with a level of quality that meets or exceeds acceptable industry standards for design, safety, and functionality.

Your Impact

You will collect, compile, and analyze data from the physical work site, surveys, blueprints, schematics, data, technical drawings, computer-generated reports, and other matrices for project development, design, and construction.

You will perform professional mechanical engineering work and conduct research and inspections of proposed and existing site conditions, equipment, resources, building, infrastructure, usage, and mechanical systems to determine conformance with applicable rules, standards, and construction or operating permits.

You will participate in incorporating advanced technology, modeling techniques, concept development, design requirements, load calculations, and operating strategies to account for the proper installation and functioning of equipment and systems according to specifications.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or closely related discipline.
  • 3 to 5 years of relevant post-education experience in engineering discipline and prior mechanical design experience.
  • Engineer in Training Certification.
  • Knowledge of mechanical engineering principles, practices, process, design/build, and the application to project work-related issues.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Engineering.
  • Essential Professional Licensure/Certification.
  • 40-Hour OSHA Health & Safety Training (HAZWOPER) (29 CFR preferred).
