Job Summary

We're seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our team. As a Mechanical Engineer at HDR, you'll play a critical role in designing and developing mechanical systems for commercial and industrial projects. Your expertise will be essential in ensuring the successful delivery of our projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate the work of mechanical design teams with multidisciplinary teams throughout project development
  • Assess and design HVAC and plumbing systems for commercial and industrial projects
  • Establish meetings and participate in reviews with governing agencies for code compliance
  • Coordinate workload to complete documents on schedule
  • Participate in reviews with governing agencies for code compliance
  • Conduct schematic, design development, and contract document work sessions at project sites
  • Coordinate workload through project development to complete documents on schedule
  • Review mechanical documents for areas of conflict with all disciplines
  • Write and edit mechanical specifications and select equipment, mechanical systems, and other devices

  • Coordinate with and assist affected disciplines with addenda, RFIs, CPRs, and change orders
  • Provide construction contract administration as needed
  • Conduct QA/QC on the work of other Mechanical Project Engineers, Mechanical Project Coordinators, or Mechanical BIM Technicians
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Architectural Engineering with Mechanical emphasis
  • Professional Engineers license, Mechanical
  • 5 years of experience in HVAC and plumbing system design
  • Computer experience utilizing MS Office, Trane TRACE, or similar software, manufacturer selection software
  • Previous experience with an architectural/engineering or engineering consulting firm
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture
