Job Summary

The Armed Security Guard is a critical role at IPS Security, responsible for ensuring the safety and security of customers, employees, and property. This position requires a high level of professionalism, attention to detail, and ability to work well under pressure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Patrol and Surveillance: Conduct regular patrols of the store premises to identify and mitigate potential security risks. Monitor surveillance footage to detect and respond to security incidents in a timely manner.
  • Incident Response: Respond to security-related incidents and emergencies, including theft, violence, and other safety concerns. Take prompt action to resolve the situation and ensure the safety of all individuals involved.
  • Enforcement and Compliance: Enforce store policies and procedures related to security, including those related to theft prevention and loss prevention. Ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.
  • Investigation and Documentation: Assist with the investigation of thefts and other security-related incidents. Document and report all security-related incidents and emergencies in a thorough and accurate manner.
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor at all times. Communicate effectively with customers, employees, and other stakeholders to ensure a positive and secure environment.

Requirements:

  • Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Experience: Prior experience as a security guard or in a related field is preferred.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to stand for long periods of time and walk long distances.
  • Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment. Basic computer skills and familiarity with security systems and equipment.
  • Licenses and Certifications: Must have an ACTIVE security license. Must have an ACTIVE armed security license. Must provide own firearm.
