Position Overview:
The Clinical Dietitian is responsible for implementing the nutrition care process, which includes screening, assessing, diagnosing, providing nutrition interventions, and monitoring the nutritional status and progress of patients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assessment: Conduct thorough nutrition-focused physical assessments, gather data through interviews, and utilize validated tools to evaluate nutritional status.
  • Diagnosis: Analyze assessment data to identify nutrition risks and problems, including malnutrition and high-risk health behaviors.
  • Intervention: Develop and recommend nutrition plans, provide education and counseling, and refer patients to additional services as necessary.
  • Education and Counseling: Deliver culturally sensitive counseling and education tailored to patients with specific nutritional needs.
  • Monitoring: Track patient progress and adjust nutrition care plans to achieve optimal outcomes.
  • Leadership: Mentor dietetic interns and new staff, ensuring they meet learning objectives while staying updated on emerging research and guidelines.
  • Communication: Maintain accurate and timely documentation in electronic health records, ensuring compliance with protocols.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with healthcare teams to create comprehensive nutrition care plans, promoting evidence-based practices.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in nutrition or a related field is required.
  • Licensure: Must hold current registered dietitian status and active licensure in the state of practice.
