Job Summary
  • This position involves working a variety of shifts, including 2nd and 3rd shifts, with the possibility of occasional 1st shifts when the facility is fully staffed.
  • As a Facilities Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for:
    • Ensuring a safe and secure environment for all individuals on campus
    • Inspecting and reporting equipment failure, security breaches, and environmental issues
    • Performing preventative maintenance, minor repairs, housekeeping, and laundry duties as assigned
    • Completing specific carpentry projects to maintain and enhance our facilities
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience is preferred
  • Vocational education with 1-3 years of experience in carpentry and/or building trades is also preferred
  • Valid driver's license and ability to pass a background/security check
  • May require licensure in a trade such as plumbing, electrical, or boiler operation
Key Skills and Abilities
  • Working knowledge of building plans and blueprints
  • Ability to layout and execute projects in accordance with codes and regulations
  • Proper selection and joinery of materials using hand and power tools
  • Good working knowledge of both rough and finish carpentry
  • Ability to communicate effectively with staff, supervision, and visitors
  • Ability to budget time and resources to complete assigned tasks
