We are seeking a skilled Facilities Maintenance Technician to join our team at MaineHealth. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and security of our facilities, staff, and visitors.
Job Summary- This position involves working a variety of shifts, including 2nd and 3rd shifts, with the possibility of occasional 1st shifts when the facility is fully staffed.
- As a Facilities Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for:
- Ensuring a safe and secure environment for all individuals on campus
- Inspecting and reporting equipment failure, security breaches, and environmental issues
- Performing preventative maintenance, minor repairs, housekeeping, and laundry duties as assigned
- Completing specific carpentry projects to maintain and enhance our facilities
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience is preferred
- Vocational education with 1-3 years of experience in carpentry and/or building trades is also preferred
- Valid driver's license and ability to pass a background/security check
- May require licensure in a trade such as plumbing, electrical, or boiler operation
- Working knowledge of building plans and blueprints
- Ability to layout and execute projects in accordance with codes and regulations
- Proper selection and joinery of materials using hand and power tools
- Good working knowledge of both rough and finish carpentry
- Ability to communicate effectively with staff, supervision, and visitors
- Ability to budget time and resources to complete assigned tasks
