Job Summary

The Center for Orthopedic and Research E is seeking a skilled Medical Records Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our medical records department, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and completeness of patient records.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and import documents into patient charts, ensuring timely and accurate processing.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to patients and providers, responding to inquiries and resolving issues in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Audit patient information to correct discrepancies and merge duplicate charts, maintaining the highest level of data integrity.
  • Enter PCP information into the Referring Providers database and provide support for the Patient Portal system.
  • Collaborate with providers, staff, and the public to maintain effective communication and ensure seamless workflow.
  • Audit the automated PCP correspondence system to ensure correct functioning and timely delivery of notes to referring providers.
  • Maintain productivity and accuracy metrics, adhering to department expectations and AEIOU Behavioral Standards.
  • Stay up-to-date with HOPCo policies and procedures, including those specific to Document Management.

Requirements

  • High school diploma/GED
  • Minimum of one year of previous medical records experience or RHIT certification
  • Advanced knowledge of HIPAA regulations
  • Experience with computer applications, including Windows-based applications
