About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled EAP Counselor to join our team at UnitedHealth Group. As an EAP Counselor, you will play a critical role in providing onsite clinical services to our dedicated customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct clinical assessments and provide time-limited counseling to employees
  • Assess and refer employees to appropriate programs and services, including work-life, behavioral health, and substance abuse resources
  • Provide EAP authorization for employees needing ongoing counseling services
  • Offer limited aftercare monitoring to ensure employee safety and continuation of treatment
  • Assist in developing workplace policies and procedures, such as workplace violence prevention and FMLA issues
  • Provide manager consultation services on various work-related issues, including performance management and organizational change
  • Conduct on-site training services for managers and employees on wellness topics and health fairs
  • Participate in monthly team meetings and customer meetings as required
Requirements
  • Masters or Doctoral degree in a recognized behavioral health discipline
  • Current, unrestricted license at the independent practice level in your state of residence
  • 3+ years of experience in a behavioral health setting
  • Ability to work onsite and travel to different hospital locations in Orange County
Preferred Qualifications
  • CEAP certification
  • Training in EAP, workplace, and organizational dynamics
  • Experience in managed care, private or public clinics, with emphasis on mental health, chemical dependency, and workplace issues
  • EAP experience
  • Proficiency with MS Office applications
  • Proven written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively among different levels of management and personnel
