Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Mental Health Counselor to join our team at WestCare. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will provide comprehensive mental health services to individuals experiencing a range of challenges.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough assessments and develop individualized service plans to address client needs.
  • Collaborate with clients to set measurable goals and objectives, and regularly review and update plans as needed.
  • Provide case management, psychoeducation, and individual/group therapy to address client needs.
  • Assess and manage crisis/emergencies effectively, including suicide risk assessment and intervention.
  • Coordinate care with the team, other healthcare providers, and community agencies to ensure continuity of care.
  • Advocate for clients' needs and collaborate with external stakeholders to address barriers to treatment and access to resources.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation, including notes and discharge summaries.
Requirements
  • Master's degree or higher in social work, psychology, or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • Current licensure or eligibility for licensure as an LCSW, LMFT, LPC, or higher.
  • Experience working with diverse populations and individuals with various substance use and co-occurring diagnoses.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish rapport with clients and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating flexibility and cultural competence.
