Job Overview

GENERAL PURPOSE

The Master Relief Operator is responsible for demonstrating expertise across a variety of processes, protocols, and machinery to fulfill multiple operator roles, including those that require advanced skills, within the production facility. This position serves as a key resource for problem-solving and assisting with operator tasks or production machinery.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

· Execute a diverse range of line functions within the manufacturing setting, encompassing advanced-level processing, machine operation, and break relief duties (e.g., Receiver, Blend/Filler/CIP/Retort/Evaporator/Pasteurizer operators). This may involve diagnosing issues and performing minor maintenance tasks.

· Clean, set up, operate, and oversee machinery on the production line.

· Ensure the correct materials are utilized for each product being manufactured.

· Complete all necessary documentation and scheduled quality assessments.

· Analyze charts, screens, quality checklists, and specifications in both printed and digital formats.

· Conduct cleaning and sanitation activities as required to maintain production equipment; finalize cleaning checklists upon completion of production runs.

· Prepare machinery for subsequent runs, including necessary size adjustments.

· Troubleshoot and resolve moderate to complex operational challenges.

· Maintain effective communication with other departments, supervisors, and staff, promptly notifying them of any issues or concerns that may hinder production efficiency.

· Ensure all documentation is completed clearly, accurately, and legibly, adhering to all required information protocols. Ensure compliance with standard operating procedures (SOPs).

· Review process data and equipment performance metrics to enhance quality, throughput, and troubleshooting efforts.

· Assist in training initiatives within the functional area as necessary.

· Adhere to all good manufacturing practices (GMP) and operate in alignment with corporate regulatory, food safety, quality, and sanitation standards.

· Uphold safe working conditions for all employees and comply with all relevant state and federal health and safety regulations.

Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

· High school diploma or equivalent.

· 2 to 4 years of experience in manufacturing or production, preferably within the dairy or consumer goods sector.

· Certification and/or licensing may be required during the course of employment.
