Internal Audit, Associate (Treasury/Liquidity Risk)

At Goldman Sachs, we're committed to helping our clients, shareholders, and communities grow. As a Senior Operations Associate in our Internal Audit team, you'll play a critical role in ensuring the firm's internal control structure is effective and compliant with regulatory requirements.

We're looking for detail-oriented team players who have an interest in financial markets and want to gain insight into the firm's operations and control processes. As an Internal Auditor, you'll demonstrate strong risk and control mindsets, analytical skills, and the ability to challenge and discuss effectively with management on risks and control measures.

Our team has unique insight into the financial industry and its products and operations. We're organized into global teams comprising business and technology auditors to cover all the firm's businesses and functions, including securities, investment banking, consumer and investment management, risk management, finance, cyber-security and technology risk, and engineering.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Performing risk assessments of related organization units and ongoing monitoring of covered areas by conducting discussions with senior management.
  • Defining audit scope, performing detailed walkthroughs to evaluate the adequacy of control designs, and developing test plans and performing testing to assess control operating effectiveness.
  • Presenting the scope, progress, and results of the review to internal audit management, business stakeholders, and assisting with negotiating finalization of issues with senior client management.
  • Maintaining ongoing discussions with senior stakeholders to understand any changes to their organizations, business processes, and products, as well as any significant internal and external events, in order to formulate a point of view of the control environment.
  • Developing annual audit coverage plans, including risk assessing organization units, identifying high-risk areas, and fulfilling regulatory expectations and requirements.

Requirements include:

  • Effective audit mindset to independently assess the firm's internal control structure in the areas of liquidity risk and corporate treasury.
  • Knowledge of capital adequacy-related topics, including Basel Capital Accord regulatory requirements (advanced model-based and/or standardized frameworks).
