Position Overview

Role Summary

PCSI is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Assistant to support various maintenance tasks. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing minor repairs and adjustments across multiple systems including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and structural components. This role involves ensuring the functionality and safety of building systems through routine maintenance and minor repairs.

This position will report to the Maintenance Program Supervisor and is based in a dynamic work environment. Standard working hours are Monday to Friday from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Hourly wage of $17.20.
  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance with employer contributions for employee-only coverage.
  • 401(k) plan with matching contributions up to 6%.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform minor repairs and adjustments to HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, and structural components.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of mechanical rooms.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance tasks, including filter changes and cleaning of cooling systems.
  • Assist in the manufacture, repair, and installation of screens and glass.
  • Conduct inspections and maintenance of signage.
  • Complete necessary documentation and paperwork.

Additional Duties:

  • Replace electrical components such as receptacles and switches.
  • Patch minor holes and cracks in walls and ceilings.
  • Repair or replace plumbing fixtures and appliances.
  • Paint and maintain structures and equipment.
  • Repair concrete surfaces and replace damaged flooring.
  • Install doors and locks as needed.
  • Replace broken windows.
  • Perform general maintenance on various equipment.
  • Other related tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Ability to perform assigned maintenance duties effectively.
  • Prior experience in facility maintenance is preferred.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Physical ability to stand, walk, and climb ladders regularly.
  • Capability to lift up to 50 lbs multiple times a day.
  • Proficiency in a variety of maintenance tasks.
  • Familiarity with maintenance tools and equipment.
  • Effective communication skills in English.

Other Requirements:

  • Ability to pass background checks and drug screenings.
  • Willingness to work in various weather conditions.
  • Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to obtain necessary security clearances as required.
