Job Summary

This role is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Psychiatric Assessment Team at CommonSpirit Health. The team is responsible for ensuring the provision of safe, timely, and appropriate patient care for patients on Single Bed Certification (SBC). The incumbent will apply their knowledge of behavioral health patient needs and demands to operationalize daily safety management and provide excellent quality of care across multiple hospitals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operations Accountability
    • Develop and administer a consistent approach to clinical management based on established principles and cost-effective best practices.
    • Address challenges with sustained quality of care given the increasing volume of complex mental health patient caseloads of detained patients.
  • Staff Management and Development
    • Ensure that staff training is provided in emergent situations with comprehensive biopsychosocial assessment.
    • Audit daily operations with effective crisis intervention, medication management/treatment plans, and consideration of environmental influences in treatment and follow-up care.
  • Regulatory Compliance
    • Develop and implement standards/procedures to ensure regulatory compliance and standard of care.
    • Consolidate and standardize clinical workflow/practices across the enterprise.
  • Performance/Quality Improvement
    • Maintain knowledge of current developments in the behavioral health field and federal/state/local rules and regulations impacting program development/operation.
    • Perform related duties as required.
Qualifications

Education/Work Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, nursing, social work, behavioral health, psychology, or related discipline.
  • Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
  • Six years of progressively responsible related work experience that would demonstrate attainment of the requisite job knowledge/abilities, including three years in healthcare management.

Licensure/Certification

  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse by the Washington State Board of Nursing.
  • Psychiatric-Mental Health Nursing Certification is preferred.
