The Pediatric Behavioral Health Specialist at MultiCare Health System plays a vital role in ensuring the optimal health and wellbeing of pediatric patients. Collaborating with primary care providers, this specialist engages patients and their families in behavioral health interventions that address developmental, psychological, and social problems.

Utilizing evidence-based assessment tools, the Pediatric Behavioral Health Specialist conducts comprehensive assessments to create behavioral health care plans that target treatment for mental health concerns, trauma, environmental and caregiver safety, child abuse and neglect, grief and loss, behavior management, and parenting skills.

Key responsibilities include providing direct behavioral health intervention to pediatric patients and their families, connecting families with community services and providers that address social determinants of health, and partnering with physicians, schools, law enforcement, and other service providers to ensure well-coordinated care across the healthcare continuum.

Requirements for this role include a Master's Degree in Social Work (MSW) or a Master's Degree in Marriage & Family Therapy, licensure as a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) or a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist (LMFT), and a minimum of three years of post-MSW/MA hospital or equivalent experience.
