As a Housekeeping Team Leader, you will be responsible for upholding and enhancing cleanliness standards across guest rooms, public spaces, and back-of-house areas.

This position requires flexible availability, including weekends and holidays, with both morning and evening shifts.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Guest Satisfaction: Delivering a seamless guest experience is paramount.

  • Address guest inquiries, concerns, and complaints promptly, ensuring their needs are met during your shift while reporting to the Director of Housekeeping.
  • Maintain a logbook at the end of each shift to document any guest-related issues.
  • Manage lost and found inquiries, conducting investigations and following up with guests, while logging and storing all lost items received from various hotel areas daily.
Leadership: Strong leadership is crucial for providing the superior experience expected at our esteemed hotel.
  • Oversee, assign, and delegate daily tasks to Housekeepers, Turndown Attendants, Public Area staff, Mini Bar, Laundry Attendants, and House Persons during your shift.
  • Monitor the performance of new room attendants, offering constructive feedback and training on their assigned responsibilities.
  • Supervise daily operations, making necessary decisions to ensure a smooth workflow that maintains quality, efficiency, and productivity.
  • Actively participate in daily and monthly Housekeeping meetings, contributing to discussions and preparing agendas.
  • Be hands-on and ready to assist in any area of housekeeping that requires support to complete tasks efficiently.
  • Engage in new projects, research, and experiments, ensuring proper follow-up.
Quality Control: Inspections are essential for enhancing the guest experience before their arrival and improving staff performance.
  • Conduct daily inspections of VIP arrivals.
  • Review rooms completed by Housekeepers daily, providing necessary feedback.
  • Inspect rooms serviced by Turndown Attendants and offer constructive feedback as needed.
  • Examine public areas and housekeeping closets daily, implementing improvements where necessary.
  • Assist in walkthroughs for specific group arrivals.
  • Maintain routine records of various room types and cleaning projects, including attendance and guest feedback reports.
Safety & Security:
  • Report any unusual activities to the Director of Housekeeping.
  • Be prepared to assist and lead during safety and security procedures, including fire evacuations and emergency situations.
  • Prepare incident reports for any occurrences involving guests or Housekeeping staff during your shift.
Maintenance and Inventory Management:
  • Coordinate with Engineering for maintenance issues and Front Desk for room status updates.
  • Assist with monthly supply inventories.
  • Support quarterly linen inventories.

REQUIREMENTS:

Physical Demands: This role requires significant walking and standing, as well as the ability to perform various housekeeping tasks, including lifting and bending. Effective communication in English, both orally and in writing, is essential.

Environmental Conditions: Work is primarily indoors, with protection from weather but not necessarily from temperature changes.

Essential Skills: Knowledge of applicable standards and procedures is required.

Supervisory Skills: Ability to train and assist in the professional development of housekeeping staff is necessary.

Educational Requirements: A high school diploma or equivalent is required, along with previous housekeeping experience in a luxury hotel setting.
