Production Estimator for Automotive Repair Shop

About the Job
We are seeking an experienced Production Estimator to join our team at Asheville Ford Lincoln. As a key member of our body shop, you will play a vital role in ensuring the accurate and efficient estimation of repairs for our customers.
Job Description:
- Review and analyze repair cost estimates with our body shop manager or foreman
- Determine the feasibility of repair versus replacement of parts, such as bumpers, fenders, and doors
- Evaluate the practicality of repair compared to payment of vehicle market value before accident
- Prepare insurance forms to indicate repair cost estimate and recommendations
- Estimate the cost of repainting, converting to special purpose, or customizing undamaged vehicles
- Present information and respond to questions from groups, managers, clients, customers, and the general public
Requirements:
- Minimum 1-2 years of previous estimator experience required
- Ability to handle high volume with confidence
- Strong reading and interpretation skills for documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, and procedures manuals
- Excellent communication skills, high level of initiative, and ability to work in a team
- Basic MS Office knowledge and computer software proficiency, including internet skills and general math skills
- Experience in estimating/body shop/automotive field is a plus, especially with insurance companies
- Must be willing to undergo a background check and drug screen with a valid driver's license
Compensation and Benefits:
The estimated salary range for this position is $60,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience.
