Role Summary

The Quality Assurance Coordinator plays a pivotal role in overseeing the Quality Assurance operations within the framework of established legal standards and internal protocols. This position is essential for ensuring that our products are manufactured to the highest quality and safety standards. The QA Coordinator will be responsible for monitoring the Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP) program and the Food Safety initiatives across our various production facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Directly reports to the Director of Quality.
  • Facilitates quality assurance by creating specifications, executing sampling and testing protocols, documenting outcomes, and ensuring products comply with specifications.
  • Manages document control, ensuring compliance with documentation from suppliers and contract manufacturers.
  • Coordinates all testing activities with both internal and external laboratories, fostering strong relationships with production teams and external partners.
  • Conducts research related to food safety, sensory quality, compliance, and regulatory standards.
  • Collaborates with various departments to address non-conformance issues, ensuring adherence to procedures and actively working to prevent recurrence.
  • Handles customer feedback and complaints professionally and promptly.
  • Works closely with production facilities to ensure NSI standards are effectively communicated and implemented.
  • Reviews product labels for compliance with regulations and manages label transitions.
  • Oversees the retain sample process.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Food Science or a related discipline such as Microbiology or Chemistry.
  • A minimum of three years of experience in Quality Assurance or Quality Control within food manufacturing settings.
  • Familiarity with USDA and FDA regulations, along with food safety standards.
  • Certifications in PCQI, HACCP, and experience with GFSI Audit Scopes are preferred.
  • Previous experience in a production environment to facilitate effective analysis and problem-solving.
  • Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook), G Suite, and ERP systems (preferably SAP Business One).
  • A proactive team player with a strong sense of initiative and a collaborative spirit.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong relationship-building abilities, time management skills, and meticulous attention to detail.
Work Environment

This position operates in a hybrid work environment due to the nature of product testing, requiring in-office presence two to three days a week. Candidates outside the local area must be open to relocation.
