As a Senior Protective Relay and Control Specialist at our Nashville Field Service location, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our clients' power systems.

About the Role

This is an excellent opportunity to join a dynamic team and take on new challenges in the field of Power Systems Protection and Controls. You will be responsible for conducting commissioning, testing, maintenance, and repair of complex protective relaying schemes, metering remote control, and data systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough testing and analysis of electro-mechanical, numerical, and microprocessor-based protective relays and control devices.
  • Perform installation, commissioning, testing, and maintenance of protective relaying equipment, relaying schemes, DFR equipment, SCADA systems, distribution automation systems, and associated communication equipment.
  • Demonstrate expertise in overcurrent/voltage, directional, distance, impedance, sync check, loss of field, reverse power, multifunction relays, and other specialized equipment.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop written standard commissioning, testing, and maintenance procedures for protective relaying, DFR's, RTU's, IED's, Distribution Automation, and associated communication systems.
  • Communicate complex technical information clearly and concisely to management and customers.
  • Travel to job locations, testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and applying pertinent technical and safety standards to assigned work.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • A high school diploma or GED is required; trade/tech school with 10 years of proven OTJ experience in Power Systems Protection and Controls or equivalent military training plus related experience is preferred.
  • Candidates must have good vision with visual color discrimination, be able to lift 50+ lbs., climb ladders, stand for extended periods, and work in varied weather conditions.
  • A valid driver's license and clean driving record are necessary; ability to pass a pre-employment DOT drug screen and physical examination is also required.
