Residential Group Home Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Residential Group Home Manager to join our team at Alternative Services - Connecticut, Inc. The successful candidate will be responsible for the management of all program services and operations, ensuring the highest level of care and support for our consumers.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise and manage residential personnel, ensuring compliance with ASI policy and procedure, Union contract, DDS regulations, and federal and state laws.
- Conduct subordinate's performance appraisals, disciplinary actions, and commendations as necessary.
- Manage all house and consumer finances, ensuring timely and accurate implementation and documentation of emergency procedures, preventive maintenance, and vehicle maintenance/mileage.
- Chair monthly staff meetings, ensuring accurate minutes are taken and reviewed by the Program Coordinator.
- Work closely with the Program Coordinator and Clinical team to ensure the home is ready for licensing and QSR inspections.
- Exhibit and encourage positive relationships between staff and outside Agencies, and internal personnel.
- Ensure a habilitative environment, promoting active treatment, respect, and dignity for consumers.
- Report all incidents in accordance with policy and state regulations, ensuring correct completion of incident reports and necessary follow-up.
- Oversee the implementation of all programmatic issues through direct observation.
- Serve as a member of the interdisciplinary team, attending all meetings as such.
- Coordinate consumer-specific training with clinical personnel, ensuring staff attendance and completing any corrective action.
- Work cooperatively with clinical personnel to meet individual's habilitative needs.
- Conduct regular audits on each consumer's program book, case book, and medical book, ensuring necessary information is present and follow-through occurred.
- Review and approve all staff duties and consumer paperwork in a timely and accurate fashion.
- Participate in developing plans to meet the needs of the consumer and the home, and in carrying out those plans.
- Act as an advocate and appropriate role model for consumers, treating individuals with respect and dignity.
- Distribute all medications according to each consumer's medication schedule and DDS Medication Certification guidelines and Agency policies.
- Assist in supervising and safely transporting consumers to community activities, day programs, social events, doctor's appointments, etc.
- Maintain safety, appearance, and cleanliness of the home, conducting sanitation and safety inspections of all internal and external areas of equipment/house.
- Maintain a professional attitude with co-workers, management, outside Agencies, etc.
- Be responsible for knowing individual's location at all times and implementing all Agency policies and procedures governing Agency operations, including medication administration policies, key control, following consumer's IP, evacuation and emergency procedures, etc.
- Alert appropriate personnel immediately regarding problems or unusual occurrences, completing incident reports pertaining to individuals and/or workers compensation in a timely and accurate manner.
- Implement and adhere to all policies, procedures, and/or legal and program commitments to consumers as required by the Connecticut DDS, ASI, and other state agencies and federal agencies.
- Assist guardians, parents, and other people in understanding and working towards implementing normalization/person-centered-planning principles in contact with consumer.
- Report and immediately respond to any violation of individuals' rights directly to the Executive Director or designee, conducting investigations as directed.
- Attend in-service training, seminars, or other opportunities for professional development as made available by the Agency, providing training for Agency personnel as required.
- Have a thorough working knowledge of Agency policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Program Coordinator or from the upper management team.
- Minimum possession of a Bachelor's degree and two years management experience and a minimum two years direct care experience in the area of developmental disabilities or of dually diagnosed.
- Demonstrated administrative knowledge and skills in fiscal, personnel, managerial, and operational processes necessary for the general supervision of specialized residential care facilities.
- Valid drivers license and the ability to be insured by our insurance company throughout employment.
- Must have exemplary interpersonal skills, dealing with a variety of external and internal levels of personnel.
- The ability to obtain and maintain certifications in CPR, First Aid, PMT, and DDS State Medication Administration.
- The ability to lift up to 75 pounds, transfer, and physically intervene with individuals as required.
The Residential Manager is directly accountable to the Program Coordinator or said other person as may be substituted for the Program Coordinator.

Schedule depends upon the needs of the group individuals' and the program.
