Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Assistant Teacher to support the educational journey of young children. This role involves working with children from six weeks to Pre-Kindergarten, focusing on their growth and development in a nurturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee and manage daily classroom activities for a group of children.
  • Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and care regulations as mandated by local and national agencies.
  • Execute approved lesson plans and adhere to the established daily schedule, following the Primrose Balanced Learning curriculum.
  • Maintain a welcoming and organized classroom that fosters creativity and exploration.
  • Provide positive reinforcement and set clear expectations for children's behavior.
  • Take responsibility for the upkeep of the classroom and shared spaces.
  • Participate in all required meetings, training sessions, and school events.
  • Exhibit a professional appearance in accordance with company guidelines.
  • Assist in various capacities as directed by the leadership team.
Qualifications:
  • Must meet the basic qualifications set by local childcare regulatory agencies.
  • Prior experience in a teaching or assistant teaching role within a licensed early childhood program is preferred.
  • Understanding of the social, emotional, and developmental needs of young children.
  • Ability to lift up to 35 lbs. for the safe handling of children.
  • A two-year degree in early childhood education or a related field is preferred.
  • Knowledge of early childhood education principles, particularly in literacy, mathematics, and science.
