Key Responsibilities:- Assist providers during exams and in-office procedures, ensuring a seamless experience for patients.
- Guide patients through their appointments by escorting them to exam rooms, gathering accurate health histories, updating medication lists, and documenting vital signs like height, weight, and blood pressure.
- Provide essential patient education, particularly for pre and post-operative care, ensuring they are well-prepared and informed.
- Coordinate diagnostic testing and surgical scheduling, including obtaining pre-authorizations and keeping physicians and patients updated on any non-approvals.
- Ensure accurate record-keeping by filing and organizing all relevant reports, labs, and patient information prior to their appointments.
- Maintain organized and well-stocked exam rooms by prepping medical supplies, sterilizing instruments, and ensuring everything is ready for use.
- Triage calls and assist with patient, physician, and pharmacy inquiries while communicating important messages to the care team.
- Keep logs and records up to date, ensuring compliance with medical supply needs and safety checks (such as Cidex expiration dates).
- Support the team as needed, contributing to a collaborative and efficient clinic environment.
- Solid knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and basic healthcare systems.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced clinical setting.
- Proficiency in reading and following medical orders, along with a solid understanding of lab procedures and medications.
- Exceptional communication skills to engage effectively with patients, colleagues, and providers.
- BLS certification, a high school diploma, and completion of an accredited nursing or medical assistant program are required.
