We are currently in search of seasoned law enforcement professionals from various regions across Ohio for full-time positions within our Patrol Division. Our agency embraces innovative policing methodologies, utilizing evidence-based and research-driven strategies to effectively reduce crime and disorder. These methodologies encompass intelligence-led policing, problem-oriented policing, community-oriented policing, crime analysis, and intelligence analysis. Enforcement Officers are provided with numerous opportunities for training, specialization, and personal growth.
Key Responsibilities: (This list is illustrative; not all tasks may be included in every role, and the examples provided do not cover all potential duties.)
- Conducts patrols in designated County areas, ensuring public safety, enforcing State motor vehicle and criminal laws, and maintaining a visible presence to detect criminal activities through various means.
- Engages in proactive patrols to enhance crime prevention awareness, establishing regular interactions with citizens within the patrol area.
- Prepares and submits electronic reports on crimes, incidents, activities, and violations.
- Responds to traffic accident scenes, ensuring the safety of bystanders, protecting property, assisting injured individuals, and investigating the causes of accidents.
- Adds to public complaint resolution.
- Provides testimony in court as required for traffic, criminal, or civil cases.
- Secures crime scenes and preserves pertinent physical evidence.
- Performs additional assigned responsibilities as necessary.
- Possession of a valid and active Ohio (OPOTA) Peace Officer Certification with no more than a one-year service gap.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Must possess a valid driver's license.
- Knowledgeable in departmental policies, Federal, State, and local laws, law enforcement practices, safety and security protocols, public relations, and court procedures.
- Willingness to work 12-hour shifts, weekends, and holidays.
- Successful completion of the background check process.
$5,000 Sign-on BONUS payable after the completion of the probationary period.
