Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Events Coordinator to join our team in the Office of Public Engagement at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate and execute events, conferences, and meetings that promote the University's mission and goals.
  • Develop and implement event concepts, themes, and logistics, ensuring seamless execution and high-quality outcomes.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including faculty, staff, and students, to plan and deliver events that meet their needs and expectations.
  • Manage event budgets, vendors, and contracts, ensuring fiscal responsibility and compliance with University policies.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to event attendees, speakers, and sponsors, ensuring a positive and memorable experience.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as event management, hospitality, or communications.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in event planning, coordination, or management.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong attention to detail and ability to multitask.
  • Proficiency in event planning software, such as Eventbrite or AllSeated.
