Position Summary

This role is situated within the Advanced Manufacturing Department of the Kenworth Division. The Senior Project Coordinator will spearhead and manage the development and documentation processes related to the manufacturing preparations for new vehicle production.

This position entails overseeing program development within a matrixed organizational structure to achieve program goals, including timelines, budgets, communication, and issue resolution.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership in project management to a team of Advanced Manufacturing Engineers engaged in vehicle development projects that incorporate emissions-compliant powertrains.
  • Lead efforts to identify PACCAR factory requirements for new vehicle initiatives, encompassing budget considerations, facility modifications, validation equipment, training, logistics packaging, product flow, and infrastructure development.
  • Coordinate program activities across various PACCAR divisions and departments.
  • Ensure timely and budget-compliant delivery of assigned programs while meeting established objectives.
  • Maintain assigned programs within the appropriate tollgate phase.
  • Facilitate effective communication throughout the organization, including with Senior Management.
  • Draft scope requests and secure necessary approvals.
  • Develop and manage program budgets and schedules.
  • Prepare and present program updates.
  • Oversee successful production implementation.
  • Communicate relevant information with PACCAR-affiliated factories.
  • Coordinate input and feedback from plant operations.
  • Monitor and report critical metrics such as readiness, defects, documentation, and communication.
  • Provide support during pilot build activities at suppliers and manufacturing facilities.
  • Contribute to ongoing continuous improvement initiatives within the department.
  • Travel requirements may involve up to 15% of the time.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of five years of program management experience, with a preference for one to three years in the automotive or commercial truck sector. A highly motivated self-starter with a proven track record of leading successful projects is essential.

Required qualifications include:

  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • A Bachelor's Degree in engineering.
  • Preferred: MS/MBA degree and PMP or PgMP certification.

If certification is not currently held, the candidate must be willing to obtain it within 12 months of meeting the experience requirements.
