Key Responsibilities
  • Operate a school bus safely and efficiently, adhering to all traffic laws and regulations.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of students on board, including monitoring their behavior and providing assistance as needed.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with students, parents, and school staff.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance driving skills and knowledge of transportation procedures.
  • Collaborate with other drivers and transportation staff to ensure seamless and efficient transportation services.

Requirements
  • A valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) with Passenger, School Bus, and Air Brake Endorsements.
  • A satisfactory driving history based on review of state motor vehicle records.
  • A clean criminal history record and child abuse history checks as required by law and the Pennsylvania Department of Education.
  • Pass an initial and routine annual school bus driver physical and have tuberculosis testing as required by the Pennsylvania Department of Education.
  • Pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test and participate in random drug and alcohol testing programs throughout employment.
