Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Dishwasher with prior experience in a fast-paced kitchen environment. The Experienced Dishwasher will be responsible for efficiently cleaning and sanitizing dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment, ensuring a clean and organized kitchen space.

This role is key to maintaining smooth kitchen operations, contributing to food quality, and supporting other kitchen staff in preparing and delivering meals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Washing and Sanitizing: Wash, rinse, and sanitize dishes, pots, pans, utensils, and kitchen equipment using both manual and mechanical dishwashing systems.
  • Maintaining Cleanliness: Maintain a clean and organized dishwashing area by ensuring all equipment is properly stored after cleaning.
  • Quality Control: Ensure all items are cleaned to health and safety standards, and any chipped or damaged items are reported.
  • Efficiency and Organization: Monitor the dishwashing process to maintain efficiency and ensure that clean items are ready for food preparation and service.
  • Supply Chain Management: Manage the flow of dishes, utensils, and kitchen tools, ensuring that items are delivered to the appropriate locations in a timely manner.
  • Maintenance and Repair: Assist with the maintenance and cleaning of dishwashing equipment, reporting any malfunction or issues to the kitchen supervisor.
  • Additional Tasks: Assist in basic food prep or other kitchen tasks as needed.
  • Sanitation Standards: Dispose of trash, recycling, and broken items, ensuring cleanliness throughout the kitchen.
  • Kitchen Cleaning: Help maintain sanitation standards in the kitchen by regularly cleaning floors, sinks, and other kitchen surfaces.

Requirements:

  • Previous Experience: Previous experience as a dishwasher in a restaurant, hotel, or similar food service environment (at least 6 months to 1 year preferred).
  • Operational Skills: Ability to operate commercial dishwashing equipment and other kitchen appliances.
  • Knowledge and Qualifications: Knowledge of proper dishwashing techniques and safety standards.
  • Organizational and Communication Skills: Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask in a busy kitchen environment.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to lift and carry heavy items, stand for long periods, and perform repetitive tasks.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work well in a team and communicate effectively with kitchen staff.
  • Flexibility: Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Criminal Background Check: MUST be able to pass a criminal background check and drug screen.

Salary: $25,000 - $30,000 per year, based on experience.

Work Environment: Fast-paced and high-pressure kitchen setting, requiring physical stamina and ability to handle noise, heat, and humidity.
