Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Business Intelligence Specialist to join our team at the University of California, Irvine. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for providing complex analytical support on payor and provider contract negotiations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain complex financial models to assess and develop innovative hospital and physician reimbursement structures.
  • Assist the Director of Contracting and UCI Health Executive Leadership in their decision-making process and provide recommendations to optimize financial and contractual outcomes of negotiations.
  • Participate in negotiations and interact with health plans, vendors, and other departments within the organization to ensure integrity and effectiveness of financial models and data.
Requirements
  • Strong financial, analytical, and planning skills to effectively evaluate projects and new business opportunities.
  • Strong commitment to the values of the organization: Academic Achievement, Respect, Integrity, Service, and Excellence.
  • Minimum 3-4 years' experience working in contracting for a health plan, medical group, or hospital, or an equivalent combination of work experience performing high-level data analysis.
  • Experience in contract modeling and/or reimbursement modeling.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Healthcare Management, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience working in an academic medical setting.
  • Knowledge of University and medical center organizations, policies, procedures, and forms.
