Job Summary:

The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania is seeking an Environmental Protection Specialist to oversee activities related to waste management permits at the Southwest Regional Office. The successful candidate will possess a valid Professional Engineer license and have experience in environmental protection or project development, design, or construction.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise activities related to waste management permits
  • Ensure compliance with regulations governing waste management
  • Oversee the granting of permits for land disposal sites, waste processing facilities, and resource recovery centers

Requirements:

  • Two years of experience as an Environmental Engineer or Air Quality Engineer
  • Five years of professional engineering experience in environmental protection or project development, design, or construction
  • Valid Professional Engineer license issued by the Pennsylvania State Registration Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors, and Geologists or a valid Professional Engineer license issued by the applicable licensing body of another state

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

Full-time employment with work hours from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday to Friday, with a 30-minute lunch break. Telework opportunities are available up to 3 days per week, subject to meeting certain requirements.

Salary:

The starting salary may be non-negotiable, and further communication regarding this position will be provided via email.
