Position Overview:

Leeds Professional Resources is in search of a skilled and proactive Director of Acquisition to spearhead our initiatives in acquiring commercial and industrial properties. This pivotal role is essential for broadening our asset portfolio and ensuring the effective identification, assessment, and procurement of high-value real estate opportunities. The successful candidate will possess a robust background in commercial real estate, outstanding analytical capabilities, and the proficiency to navigate complex transactions from start to finish.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Development:
  • Formulate and execute acquisition strategies that align with the organization's growth ambitions.
  • Identify and assess potential acquisition prospects within the commercial and industrial real estate sectors.
  • Market Insights:
  • Conduct comprehensive market research and analysis to pinpoint emerging trends and opportunities.
  • Evaluate market data, economic indicators, and competitive dynamics to inform acquisition strategies.
  • Transaction Oversight:
  • Lead the complete acquisition lifecycle, encompassing sourcing, underwriting, due diligence, negotiation, and finalization.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure seamless transaction execution.
  • Financial Assessment:
  • Carry out in-depth financial modeling and valuation of potential acquisition targets.
  • Evaluate the financial feasibility and prospective returns of potential acquisitions.
  • Networking and Relationship Management:
  • Build and sustain relationships with brokers, property owners, investors, and other industry professionals.
  • Represent the organization at industry events, conferences, and networking functions.
  • Due Diligence Management:
  • Supervise the due diligence process, including property evaluations, environmental assessments, and legal reviews.
  • Ensure adherence to all regulatory and organizational standards throughout the acquisition process.
  • Documentation and Reporting:
  • Prepare and present detailed acquisition proposals and investment summaries to senior leadership.
  • Maintain precise and organized records of all acquisition activities and transactions.
  • Team Development:
  • Lead and mentor a team of acquisition specialists.
  • Promote a collaborative and high-performance culture within the acquisition division.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Real Estate, Finance, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
  • An MBA or advanced degree is advantageous.
  • A minimum of 7-10 years of experience in commercial and/or industrial real estate acquisitions.
  • A proven history of successfully managing complex acquisition transactions.
  • Strong analytical and financial modeling expertise.
  • Exceptional negotiation and communication skills.
  • Comprehensive understanding of commercial and industrial real estate markets.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Familiarity with real estate acquisition software and tools.
