Key ResponsibilitiesThe Veterinary Assistant plays a crucial role in supporting Veterinarians with the treatment and care of animals. Responsibilities include:
- Assisting during initial examinations by safely restraining animals as needed.
- Ensuring examination and surgical rooms are stocked with necessary supplies.
- Sterilizing instruments and confirming that all equipment is functioning properly.
- Communicating effectively with pet owners and maintaining accurate patient records.
The perfect candidate will possess:
- A strong sense of professionalism and reliability.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- A compassionate approach towards animals and their owners.
- Flexibility to work varied hours, including weekends.
- The capability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
- A proactive attitude, able to complete tasks without constant supervision.
- Previous experience in a similar role is preferred.
- Experience in customer service.
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
- Familiarity with veterinary medical terminology.
