Job Overview

Salary Range: $60,000-$70,000

Position Summary: The Substance Abuse Associate Counselor will deliver therapeutic interventions to individuals participating in our Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) and Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP). This role encompasses leading both individual and group therapy sessions, crafting tailored treatment strategies, and collaborating with a diverse team of professionals to assist clients on their path to recovery.

Key Duties:
  • Perform thorough evaluations of clients to identify their needs and formulate personalized treatment plans.
  • Lead individual, group, and family therapy sessions utilizing evidence-based methodologies.
  • Work in partnership with psychiatrists, medical staff, and fellow therapists to ensure cohesive care.
  • Track and document client progress, modifying treatment plans as required.
  • Provide immediate support and crisis intervention when necessary.
  • Inform clients and their families about substance abuse, coping mechanisms, and strategies for preventing relapse.
  • Ensure accurate and timely clinical documentation adheres to regulatory requirements.
  • Engage in case discussions, team meetings, and continuous professional development.
Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or a related discipline.
  • Valid state certification or registration as an Associate Counselor (e.g., AMFT, APCC, ACSW).
  • Experience in working with individuals facing substance use challenges, ideally in a PHP/IOP context.
  • Strong understanding of evidence-based treatment approaches for substance abuse.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Capability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Excellent organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Dedication to ongoing professional growth and staying updated with industry best practices.
  • KIPU experience is highly preferred.
