About the Role:
The County of San Mateo, CA is seeking dedicated and hard-working individuals for the temporary, full-time positions of Election Support Specialists to assist in the upcoming election. As an Election Support Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the integrity and success of the election process.
Key Responsibilities:
- Verify voter eligibility using an iPad tablet.
- Provide voters with information about the current election.
- Guide voters on the use of electronic ballot marking devices.
- Operate office equipment, including Windows laptops, printers, and iPad tablets.
- Assist voters with registering to vote and casting their ballot.
- Issue ballots using Windows laptops.
- Maintain accurate files and records.
- Secure Election materials and supplies to maintain the integrity of the election.
Work Schedule:
The selected individuals must be available for the entire employment period until the completion of their assignment. The work schedule will vary depending on the specific assignment, but may include working at a Vote Center, Early Voting location, or on Election Day.
Requirements:
- Strong organizational abilities and computer proficiency.
- Attention to detail and previous knowledge of vote center procedures and the live vote center application.
- Ability to prioritize work, learn new job tasks quickly, and understand and carry out oral and written directions.
