The Surgical Technician plays a vital role in ensuring the highest level of care for patients undergoing surgical procedures. This individual is responsible for maintaining a sterile environment, anticipating the needs of the surgical team, and promoting efficient workflow. As a key member of the operating room team, the Surgical Technician must possess excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities- Assist with surgical procedures, maintaining a sterile environment and adhering to principles of surgical asepsis.
- Anticipate the needs of the surgical team, promoting efficient workflow and effective communication.
- Contribute to a work environment of caring and cooperation among a culturally diverse workforce and patient population.
- Perform other duties as needed, including troubleshooting and calibrating patient care equipment.
- Completion of a surgical technician course required.
- No experience required, but certification preferred.
- Basic Life Support certification required.
- Ability to speak, read, and write legibly in English, with Spanish preferred.
- Proficiency in computer software programs, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and electronic medical records.
