About the Department: The Biomedical Sciences Program offers a graduate certificate that equips students for health professional schools, including medicine, dentistry, and physician assistant programs.
About the Position: The role of the Biomedical Sciences Educator is pivotal in assisting faculty with the delivery of courses and supporting students in enhancing their study techniques and grasping critical biomedical concepts necessary for success in health-related fields. This position also encompasses advising and logistical responsibilities for program management.
Responsibilities: This full-time opportunity is designed for a committed and proficient educator to refine their teaching abilities while engaging with students in a biomedical graduate certificate program.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Facilitating both in-person and online recitations, review sessions, and interactive learning experiences;
- Providing comprehensive technical, administrative, and instructional support in classroom and online settings;
- Assisting in the administration and management of program data;
- Contributing to the planning and execution of student activities;
- Offering support for guest speakers and visitors;
- Guiding students in their academic and professional growth.
Required Qualifications:
- Master's degree in physiology or a related discipline;
- Experience in a clinical environment relevant to professional school preparation;
- Expertise in advanced biomedical sciences;
- Ability to assist students facing academic challenges;
- Commitment to diversity in student backgrounds.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience teaching in scientific disciplines;
- Background in premedical advising or graduate education;
- Familiarity with hybrid and flipped classroom methodologies;
- Experience with lecture capture technologies;
- Background in healthcare environments.
