Job DescriptionWe are seeking a highly skilled and creative Apparel Design Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for designing and developing new and innovative products for each season, working closely with our Creative Director and Designers to promote our brand vision while meeting margin targets.
Key Responsibilities:- Design and develop new and innovative products for each season, collaborating with the Creative Director and Designers to promote brand vision and meet margin targets.
- Assist in the creation of design boards for each season, showcasing colors, silhouette, fabric, print, and trims.
- Provide support in both creative and practical technical aspects of the design process.
- Develop and maintain all tech packs, including sketches, graphics, and detailed line art to communicate design concepts and construction details to factories.
- Organize, lead, take notes, and attend fit meetings with Technical Designers.
- Update tech packs to resolve any design/quality issues that arise during development, communicate changes to factories for proper execution.
- Archive artwork (intellectual property) electronically for future retrieval from electronic graphic libraries.
- Research and test new and innovative fabrics and components with a focus on sustainability.
- Follow and identify trends in relevant categories, attending select trade shows and inspo shopping to gain a good understanding of product and market trends.
- Prepare and present Line Plans and Mini-Boards to sales and marketing teams.
- Develop, QC, and track product from concept, strike off, prototypes, SMS, ROS, PPS to bulk production.
- Correspond daily with international and domestic factories on any design changes or status of product.
- Troubleshoot possible production issues related to construction, fabrication, or garment quality with a solutions-oriented mindset.
- Create and maintain all WIP reports for designated categories.
- File and track all sample and fabric development.
- Seek new ways to make design processes more efficient and share ideas with design teams.
- Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
- Experience with tech pack creation.
- Ability to manage WIP reports.
- Quality sketching skills.
- Knowledge of general BOMs.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
