Job Title: Automation Controls Engineer II

Card-Monroe Automation is seeking an experienced Automation Controls Engineer II to join our team. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing control system solutions for various types of automated equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement control system solutions for automated equipment
  • Develop software code for programmable controllers, robotics, motion control, vision systems, and SCADA applications
  • Create accurate project documentation, including control narratives, IO lists, flowcharts, and device lists
  • Support equipment testing, debugging, and commissioning
  • Install, commission, and train customers on machine(s) at their site
  • Review budgets and schedules, and determine and choose appropriate hardware and devices for automated systems
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Mechatronic Engineering or related field, or Associate's degree with 2+ years of experience in controls for industrial manufacturing
  • 2+ years of experience in machine building, system integration, or industrial automation
  • AutoCAD or Solidworks Electrical experience, PLC programming experience (Allen-Bradley RS Logix 5, 500, Studio 5000, Siemens Step7, TIA Portal), HMI programming experience (Allen-Bradley FT View ME, SE, RSView, Panelbuilder, Siemens WinCC Flex, TIA Portal), and SCADA programming experience (FactoryTalk, Ignition, Wonderware, GE Proficy)
  • Industrial networking experience, including Ethernet/IP, PROFINET, TCP/IP, Modbus, DH+, RIO, EtherCAT, vision experience (KEYENCE, COGNEX, BALLUFF), servo experience (AB Kinetix, Siemens SIMOTION), and hands-on experience in automotive, food/beverage, chemical, or consumer product manufacturing
Preferred Skills:
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, ability to take initiative, highly self-motivated
  • Ability to work well in a team-based environment and independently
  • Strong design and problem-solving skills, critical thinking skills, and ability to read and interpret electrical drawings
  • ISA88 Batch Programming experience and PlantPAX experience a plus
Training and Growth Opportunities:
  • Ignition SCADA platform training, database training, and any necessary programming training
Travel:
  • Up to 25% to customer sites or other CMA locations
