Job Summary

The State of Montana is seeking a highly skilled Pharmacy Program Specialist to join our team in the Health Resources Division. As a Pharmacy Program Specialist, you will be responsible for managing the Outpatient Prescription Drug and Home Infusion Therapy Programs, working with administrative rules, statutes, and policies concerning claims payment systems and coding, and coordinating program changes in Montana Medicaid Information System (MMIS) and the Montana Medicaid pharmacy point of sale system.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the Outpatient Prescription Drug and Home Infusion Therapy Programs
  • Work with administrative rules, statutes, and policies concerning claims payment systems and coding
  • Coordinate program changes in MMIS and the Montana Medicaid pharmacy point of sale system
  • Manage program contracts

Qualifications

  • General knowledge of Medicaid, medical terminology, and basic medical billing practices
  • Knowledge of program management principles and practices
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to research, interpret, and apply laws, rules, and regulations
  • Meet minimum qualifications: Bachelor's degree in human services, business, public, or health administration, or other related fields; two years of progressively responsible administrative or program experience; experience with Medicaid, pharmacy, or other care-related program experience is preferred
