At the State of Montana, we are committed to protecting the environment and promoting a healthy Montana for all its citizens. Our Enforcement Program plays a critical role in ensuring that our environmental statutes and regulations are enforced in a timely, consistent, and appropriate manner.

The Program Support Specialist is a key member of our Enforcement Program team, providing high-level administrative services and program support to keep our critical work running smoothly. This position manages our main phone lines for citizen complaints and other inquiries, processes mail, assists visitors, handles information requests, and collaborates on projects within Enforcement and across the State of Montana.

Responsibilities include database QA/QC, data and records organizing and management services, website maintenance, conducting research, preparing and editing documents, proofing a wide variety of materials, managing supplies, equipment, vehicles, and arranging conference calls, meetings, events, and travel.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • One year or relevant experience with demonstrated skill in the use of Microsoft Office software and equipment.
  • Some college or post-high school education or training preferred.
  • Preferred experience with customer service and verbal communications, working as a team, adaptability, and proofing and editing proficiency.
  • May require current valid Driver's License and clean driving record in accordance with State of Montana Vehicle Use Policy.
