Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse to join our team at RN Staff. As a Behavioral Psychiatric Nurse, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive nursing care to patients on our Geropsychiatric Unit.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess and monitor patient symptoms and conditions, recording and reporting any changes or concerns.
  • Maintain accurate patient reports and medical histories, performing mental and physical assessments as needed.
  • Administer medication and treatment to patients, providing assistance with daily activities and observing reactions.
  • Manage activities with the therapeutic milieu, including daily groups, education, and one-on-one interactions with patients.
  • Collaborate with other members of the treatment team to ensure the best possible care for patients.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for each patient, working with the multidisciplinary treatment team to achieve goals.
  • Conduct therapies in accordance with patient diagnosis and needs, performing treatment interventions as ordered by physicians.
  • Collaborate with physicians, multidisciplinary team members, and outside health and social agencies to ensure comprehensive care.
  • Provide efficient discharge plans and obtain accurate histories at admission.
  • Complete all required documentation relevant to patients in a timely and efficient manner.
Requirements
  • Education: 2-year Associate's degree or diploma from a 3-year Nursing program required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Must possess valid State of New Hampshire RN license.
  • BLS certification required.
  • 1 year previous nursing experience preferred.
  • Medical terminology required.
  • Excellent mathematical and analytical skills.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
