Nurse Care Specialist

**Key Responsibilities:**
* Utilize the nursing process to assess and evaluate patient needs and problems, planning and implementing nursing care, evaluating patient response and progress toward outcomes, and revising the plan of care accordingly.
* Provide direct patient care and implement physician orders, including administering medications, treatments, IV therapy, meeting needs for hygiene, nutrition, positioning, and activity, and applying other interventions appropriate to patient and SO needs.
* Prioritize, organize, delegate care activities as appropriate to patient and shift needs, and provide supervision of delegated tasks.
* Assess readiness and need for patient/SO education, including discharge planning needs, and provide appropriate teaching and support.
* Communicate and collaborate with the physician and other healthcare providers to meet patient needs, participate in rounds, utilize lab results, progress notes, and other parts of the medical record to keep informed regarding patient condition.
**Requirements:**
* Good communication skills, flexibility, and a caring attitude
* Thoroughness and attention to detail
* Graduation from an accredited school of nursing and a current license in the state of Nebraska
* BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications
