The Substance Abuse Counselor I position necessitates current certification as a Credentialed Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC) or an equivalent advanced certification. Candidates must be eligible and maintain eligibility for comprehensive participation in Medicaid and Medicare programs.

In this role, you will collaborate within a multidisciplinary treatment team, delivering care and counseling to clients under the guidance of a senior counselor or Licensed Master Social Worker.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Acts as the primary counselor for designated patient groups, overseeing all clinical services and direct care.
  • Facilitates individual and group therapy sessions, organizes recreational activities, and coordinates social events.
  • Conducts patient interviews, reviews medical histories, and completes assessments for treatment planning.
  • Monitors patient progress towards established treatment objectives.
  • Completes necessary documentation in compliance with applicable procedures and confidentiality standards.
  • Provides crisis intervention and maintains connections with community organizations for client rehabilitation.
  • Conducts rounds, ensures a safe environment, and assists in patient transport.
  • Aids in meal preparation, communicates shift updates, and performs other assigned responsibilities.
Qualifications:

The treatment center employs a computerized patient record system, and background checks are required for all potential candidates.
