Combat Systems Test Technician

R&P Technologies is seeking an experienced professional to join our RTN DDG Support Team. As a Combat Systems Test Technician, you will be responsible for planning and coordinating the installation of combat system equipment, performing equipment installation, checkout, testing, and reporting results.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the planning and coordination of combat system equipment installations
  • Perform equipment installation, checkout, testing, and reporting of results
  • Collaborate with other systems engineers and ship operators
  • Provide regular internal status reports to the System Test Team Leads
  • Provide underway system support for at-sea events
  • Support system test activities by performing testing for systems part of the TSCEI network or as support to the systems under test
  • Support demonstration of ship systems to Board of Inspectors and Survey (INSURV)
  • Interact with the Shipbuilder, SUPSHIP, Ships Force, and outside vendors on TSCE issues and concerns
  • Ability to perform normal climbing and lifting associated with working in a shipboard environment
  • Perform test witnessing
  • Validate an extensive range of US Navy Combat Systems and associated equipment in the combat suite
  • Able to perform hands-on testing in multiple areas of Combat Systems
Qualifications:
  • Must possess at least 10 years of testing experience
  • Must have at least 3 years of hands-on testing experience with multiple areas of Combat Systems to include:
    • Background in Combat System concept of operations
    • Cable testing
    • Electromagnetic Interference testing
    • Product Configuration Identification testing
    • Interior Communications equipment and systems, radar systems
    • General Navigation Aids, electronic, mechanical, and electrical primary and support equipment testing
    • Communications equipment testing
    • Cryptographic systems testing
  • Analyze data to identify and resolve system performance issues
  • Experience with testing in an AGILE environment
  • Experience interfacing with internal and external customers, and finding technical solutions to complex requirements
  • DoD Secret Level Clearance required
