Position Available: Specialized Educator for Visually Impaired Students

We are seeking a passionate and qualified Education Specialist with certification to serve as a Specialized Educator for Visually Impaired Students. This role involves providing essential services to students with visual impairments. Your responsibilities will encompass case management, Individualized Education Program (IEP) development, standardized assessments, and delivering tailored academic instruction throughout the academic year.

Celebrations Speech Group Inc. is a private practice and Non-Public Agency dedicated to delivering exceptional special education and therapy services to children with unique needs in various settings. Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver focused instruction to students with special needs and identified learning disabilities through a blended instructional model that fosters student growth and enrichment.
  • Conduct and evaluate individual assessments and standardized achievement tests to ascertain students' visual functioning levels, competencies, and needs across various skill areas.
  • Provide direct instruction in specialized skills, including but not limited to braille literacy, orientation and mobility, listening and tactile skills, visual efficiency, and the use of assistive technologies.
  • Create individualized and modified lesson plans or curricula for students whose IEPs require such adaptations. Collaborate with key stakeholders to ensure effective instruction delivery.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date special education records, including IEP documents, progress reports, evaluations, and other pertinent documentation.
  • Ensure that all students receive services aligned with their IEPs and are making consistent progress toward their established goals.
  • Work collaboratively with general education colleagues to accommodate and modify learning materials and strategies to meet students' diverse needs through various instructional methods.
Qualifications:
  • REQUIRED: Valid and active CA Education Specialist Instruction Credential with Visual Impairments authorizations - California CTC
  • Experience in Special Education - preferred +1 year
  • Ability to provide direct, in-person services to students
  • Strong rapport-building skills with staff
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
  • Collaborative and positive attitude
  • Commitment to working with a diverse range of students
  • Proficient technological skills
  • Ability to work independently and complete tasks without supervision
  • Effective communication across all organizational levels
  • Strong judgment in prioritizing tasks

Compensation is commensurate with experience, with an hourly rate starting at $65.00.
