Overview:

The Department of Management - Division of IT is in search of a skilled Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to enhance our dynamic software team focused on critical applications utilizing Agile methodologies.

This initiative is geared towards revitalizing the UI Tax system by restructuring its components to align with leading industry standards and frameworks, thereby improving service delivery to both agency personnel and end-users while preparing the agency for future technological advancements.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide expert guidance in the establishment and management of AWS cloud infrastructure.
  • Serve as a champion for Cloud capabilities, collaborating across various teams to design and implement user-friendly hybrid cloud environments.
  • Design, construct, and sustain efficient, reusable, and dependable AWS infrastructure utilizing AWS CDK.
  • Oversee and configure AWS services including EC2, EKS, ECR, Cognito, Lambda, RDS, S3, IAM, CloudWatch, among others.
  • Design, build, and maintain service mesh solutions like Istio within EKS clusters.
  • Create unit and integration tests to ensure comprehensive IaC test coverage.
  • Establish and manage CI/CD pipelines for the automated deployment of infrastructure and applications.
  • Gather telemetry data and develop dashboards, alerts, and notifications for precise insights into cloud operations and application performance.
  • Monitor and resolve performance challenges, ensuring high availability and optimal functioning of infrastructure and services.
  • Collaborate with software engineers to enhance application performance and reliability within AWS environments.
  • Implement and uphold security best practices and compliance measures in AWS.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • AWS certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, etc.
  • Experience in AWS CDK development.
  • Familiarity with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Knowledge of monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, Dynatrace, etc.
  • Ability to quickly build proof of concepts to showcase cloud capabilities and design user-friendly hybrid cloud environments.
