Design Engineer

At Interactive Resources - iR, we're seeking a skilled Design Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for creating innovative designs for rigid consumer packaging, including plastic bottles, closures, test apparatuses, and mechanical components.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create designs that meet customer brand requirements and are technically feasible.
  • Develop 2D drawings, standards, and templates for production environments.
  • Assist with creating mold specifications for specific products.
  • Design ancillary tooling components for prototype and production environments.
  • Develop and manage on-site 3D printing capabilities.
  • Develop FEA testing capabilities.
  • Collaborate with operations management and the business development team to stay ahead of the curve on technologies and their applications.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent job experience.
  • 5+ years of experience designing and manufacturing blow molds.
  • Industrial design experience in creating photo-realistic renderings of products applicable to the market segment.
  • Experience working in engineering and manufacturing environments.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including formal presentations and technical papers.
  • Methodical approach and ability to work multiple projects or tasks concurrently.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
