Security Officer

Mauna KEA Beach Hotel Corp is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Security Officer to join our team. As a Security Officer, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of our guests, employees, and property.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide security and emergency response services throughout the resort, ensuring that performance is within the guidelines of written procedures and resort philosophy.
- Enforce security and safety guidelines to safeguard resort and guest property, investigating and documenting incidents of concern and properly responding to resolve issues of concern.
- Patrol hotel building, grounds, and other areas on the resort as assigned, noting unusual circumstances, persons, and/or safety violations.
- Assist managers with security at hotel-related functions, escorting persons off property and providing entry gate security.
- Provide exceptional customer service, greeting and welcoming all guests in a warm and friendly manner with eye contact and a genuine smile.
- Respond rapidly to all emergencies and manage crisis situations in an efficient and professional manner, exhibiting a calming demeanor and the ability to manage emergency situations.
- Investigate and fact-find inquiries through short and long-term observation, review of documentation, interviews, and interrogations, accurately documenting incidents, inquiries, and investigations.
- Answer telephones, monitor security cameras, and dispatch security officers, enforcing security and safety guidelines to safeguard resort and guest property.
- Coordinate and supervise special assignments, performing department administrative duties such as ID card production, issuing vehicle parking decals, locker, paychecks, etc., as needed.
- Do vehicle, locker, and parcel searches and other duties relating to security or safety as directed, escorting individuals off property and providing security at hotel-related functions.
Requirements:
- Ability to use the telephone and radio.
- Ability to use various office equipment, including calculators, photocopiers, and facsimile machines.
- Ability to use AED.
- Ability to drive a vehicle.
- Ability to operate a utility vehicle or cart.
- Ability to remain calm in emergency situations.
- Able to manage stressful and challenging situations.
- Able to stand, walk, bend, and reach during most of the shift.
- Lift and carry up to 10 lbs.
- Must have the ability to communicate verbally to employees, managers, and guests/clients.
- Interviewing skills; write accurate reports and document investigations.
- Ability to communicate over the phone or radio.
- Current Hawaii State Guard Card CPR/1st Aid certified AED Certification.
- Ability to multi-task.
- Drivers License when operating company vehicle.
