Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Staff Services Analyst to join our Retirement Benefits Division, Community Property, Retirement Administration & Support Team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for reviewing, analyzing, and responding to criminal and family court documents, computing pension benefits, validating annual tax and cost-of-living adjustment information, and providing exceptional customer service to internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review and analyze complex information, such as claims or court documents, to ensure accuracy and completeness
  • Compute pension benefits and validate annual tax and cost-of-living adjustment information
  • Respond to high-volume phone inquiries related to divorce and pension benefits
  • Draft written correspondence to and on behalf of multiple stakeholders
  • Drive our CalPERS mission by providing exceptional customer service and support
Requirements
  • Associate Governmental Program Analyst or Staff Services Analyst experience
  • Ability to read and interpret complex information, such as claims or court documents
  • Pension benefit calculation experience
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities, while being detail-oriented and organized
  • Ability to provide professional and courteous customer service to internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
  • Experience using various software applications, such as Adobe Acrobat Forms and Microsoft Excel
