As a key member of our laboratory team, you will play a critical role in conducting environmental analyses and supporting national emergency response efforts.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct environmental analyses on air, soil, and oil organic matter to support national emergency response efforts.
  • Interpret mass spectral data using libraries to elucidate chemical structures, supporting critical environmental decisions.
  • Perform routine operation, maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting of lab instruments such as GC with FID, PID, and MS detectors.
  • Use advanced techniques, including liquid-liquid extraction and solid phase extraction, to prepare various environmental samples.
  • Manage subcontracted laboratory services for emergency response projects, ensuring timely and accurate analyses.
Requirements:
  • B.S. or B.A. in Chemistry or closely related scientific discipline.
  • 8-10 years of experience in an environmental laboratory, particularly with Toxic Organic (TO) air methods and/or SW-846 methods for soil, water, and oil organic analyses.
  • In-depth knowledge of chromatography and mass spectrometry theory, and experience using Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS).
  • Must possess or be able to obtain a current Medical Certification.
